Congratulations to our Bill Barrett—who has delivered a wide range of characters in such Radio Redux productions as “Butch Minds the Baby,” "The Shadow, " "The Maltese Flacon," “A Cowboy Christmas,” “My Client Curley” and “Alice in Wonderland”—for being named the Oregon Association of Broadcaster’s (OAB) “Broadcaster of the Year.
For decades, Bill was, until retiring earlier this year from KKNU-FM (New Country 93.3), one of the most popular voices in Eugene radio, being heard on “The Barrett, Fox & Berry Show, which was the top local morning program for 23 years in the Adults 25-54 demographic as measured by Arbitron and Nielsen.
In 2018, Barrett, Fox & Berry were inducted into the national Country Radio Hall of Fame. The trio won three Academy of Country Music (ACM) “Broadcast Personality of the Year” awards on six nominations. The show was a 14-time finalist in the same category for the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards and won twice. In addition, the three are four-time finalists for the National Association of Broadcasters’ Marconi Award, and they won seven OAB awards for “Best Morning Show” and four OAB awards for “Best On-Air Personality or Team.”
Now that Bill no longer has to get up at 3 a.m. to be on the radio, we trust that we’ll be seeing him in even more Radio Redux productions.
